Trump Sleeps with the Devil in South Park Season 27

According to CinemaDrame news agency, just hours after Trey Parker and Matt Stone signed a $1.5 million, five-year deal with Paramount Global, Season 27 of South Park premiered on Paramount+ featuring Donald Trump alongside the Devil. Unlike previous portrayals, South Park used Trump’s real face to avoid any speculation.

The first episode of Season 27, released this Wednesday, depicts Trump complaining about the size of his manhood in a painting before going to bed with the Devil, who also criticizes its size. The episode also shows other paintings in a fictional White House, poking fun at Trump’s military operations.

One user on X (formerly Twitter) jokingly commented: “I watched 15 minutes of it before Trump ordered South Park to be canceled.”

In the episode, the residents of South Park riot when “Jesus” enters their child’s classroom. Early on, Cartman angrily reacts to Trump’s shutdown of NPR radio, saying, “The government has no right to cancel this show—what will they cancel next?”

Later, the Devil discusses the “Epstein list” with Trump. In real life, the U.S. president sued Rupert Murdoch, owner of the Wall Street Journal, for publishing his letter to Jeffrey Epstein.

The show’s writers also target Trump’s lawsuit against CBS’s 60 Minutes, showing two anxious news anchors announcing the president’s lawsuit against South Park’s town. Jesus then descends from the sky and warns the townspeople: “You saw what happened to CBS! Do you really want to end up like Stephen Colbert? Don’t be stupid.” He cautions them that Trump “has the power to sue and bribe, and can do whatever he wants to anyone.”

The episode ends with a lawyer telling the public they must pay the president $3.5 billion and produce a video supporting him.

Following the Season 26 finale in March 2023, Stone and Parker told Vanity Fair they were waiting for clarity on the Paramount-Skydance merger before producing Season 27. The show did not air during last year’s presidential election. Parker said the election was important but “I don’t know what else can be said about Trump.”

Paramount faced widespread criticism for settling with Trump by paying $16 million. Later, when Stephen Colbert called the payment a “big, fat bribe” to Trump to secure the Skydance merger approval, CBS canceled his show.
